Movie Fashion Icon: Henry Cavill

Movie Fashion Icon: Henry Cavill

So, it’s been a while, but here is a new fashion icon who has influenced my style for the summer season.

As you know, the updated ‘Man of Steel’ is releasing in June this year and the role of Superman has been taken by fellow Brit, Henry Cavill. Those of you may have heard he was dubbed ‘Most Unluckiest Man in Hollywood’ because he missed out roles such as Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’. Though his luck has just got good!

Henry recently shot new images for the June issue of British GQ Magazine! (The Gentleman’s Bible) and I thought I could show you those images and explore Henry’s personal style of casual.

(Above) – Henry is wearing an outfit from Tom Ford. This suit is very well tailored and the check texture is very subtle yet creates a statement.

(Above) – this outfit is something very casual, yet made more sophisticated by adding a navy trench. This outfit could be worn out in the park, at a meal in the evening or a party.

Henry is seen usually wearing comfortable clothing. He is seen often wearing white shirts and blue jeans.
If you’re looking for comfort, he’s a fashion icon to look up to. Especially when the weather is hot! Don’t be afraid to make a statement with simple white shirts. (Below)

So what do you think about this generation’s Superman? I love his classic style and this style can suit all ages. Sometimes it’s nice to wear just a simple white shirt and jeans but still making a statement! Let me know what you think?

Oscar Fashion Alert: Eddie Redmayne’s Loafers

So the Red Carpet at the Oscars is the most watched Carpet, accessible all over the world to see. One trend which altered a traditional Gentleman’s suit was seen on male fashion icon ‘Eddie Redmayne’. Due to high demands on Eddie Redmayne’s style, I’m focusing on his choice of wearing Alexander McQueen Black Velvet Loafers.

The choice of wearing these amazing loafers was a style risk, but has divided fashion critics attention. Personally I think Eddie can do no wrong fashion-wise and this is a unique and adds personality to the traditional suit also by Alexander McQueen.

A close up of the amazing loafers. Velvet is a trend and is recommended as it is an ongoing trend of the season and year.

Let me know if you’re for or against Eddie’s fashion risk!

Eddie Redmayne: Young Fashion Icon

Eddie Redmayne: Young Fashion Icon

Eddie Redmayne: Star of Hit Musical adaptation, Les Miserables, has shown the world what awesome style he has. This guy has worn the best suits I have ever seen, which are always impeccably fitted and tailored to perfection. If I was to wear a smart suit, I’d look at Eddie for fashion inspiration. He loves to take a risk on the red carpet by changing the colours and materials of his suits. Always daring and statement suits are in order whenever Eddie Redmayne is there. Let’s look at his best suits!

1) Teal Velvet Suit

20130222-063316 PM.jpg

This suit is AMAZING! When I saw this beautiful Burberry Velvet suit worn at the Les Miserables UK premiere, I seriously could not believe my eyes. I have always been interested in velvet suits and I see them being this years biggest trend. The colour of this suit looks amazing and is very unique when photographed and it is perfectly tailored . Burberry is ideally the perfect designer for suits at the moment. This was custom made for Burberry spokesperson and model, Eddie. The brown brogues are a perfect when accompanying the suit and is cooler than the generic black.

2) Midnight Blue BAFTA suit

20130222-064307 PM.jpg

This suit was worn at the 2013 EE BAFTAs. This suit is not velvet but another daring statement suit as Eddie was the only one in a midnight blue suit. The blue bow tie looks good against the white shirt and black shoes suit the winter evening event. Similar cheap versions of this Burberry suit could be found at Reiss or Topman.

3) Royal Blue Redmayne

20130222-064911 PM.jpg

This Royal blue suit was worn by Eddie at the New York premiere is really slick. The check designed brown tie creates a casual style and the red pocket square creates a cool contrast. The charcoal black shoes are casual and could also be worn with a dark pair of jeans. But it creates a comfortable look.

4) SAG Awards Brown suit

This brown suit is great for a daytime event. I love the change with this suit and brown is a great colour against pale skin. This velvet Hugo Boss suit looks suave with the glossy black shoes. The sun makes the suit shimmer and stand out.

I love all 4 suits and cant decide which one I love the most. Which one of these suits is your favourite? Is he a fashion icon for the younger generation. Are velvet suits on trend? Let me know

Blazer Fashion

Blazer Fashion

No matter what the weather, Blazers are always in trend. The best thing about Blazers is that you can buy many different fabric blazers to suit any weather conditions. Another thing which is great, is that Blazers will instantly give a preppy/smart look to any casual or formal outfit.

A recent Blazer I have purchased is from Zara Man. This gorgeous Blazer is perfect for this cold weather as its made from a two cotton blend of white and black fabric, Blazer (pictured below), cost a reasonable £59.99 and is very comforting and warm. Overall, a perfect piece to accompany a trip out on the town, a pair of black jeans, coloured brogues and a cotton shirt would be ideal.

Another blazer which I also own is from high end store ‘Reiss’ which was on sale from £250 to £120. I literally picked up the last one at my local store. This luxurious emerald velvet blazer is so stunning and rich in colour. It is made for a cocktail hour or an occasion out, a ball/prom or wedding. I have been saving this blazer for the right occasion, which I would probably stick to the classic black trousers and a white shirt. (Pictured below)

Another Blazer from Topman is a very classic casual style. This Harris Tweed Blazer works really well with a casual look, a pair of blue jeans and a blue shirt. I pair this with brown or dark purple skinny trousers and a pair of brown brogues.

Blazers are very on trend and I recommend all men to own at least one Blazer. No matter what occasion, a Blazer will help you look and feel smart & confident! Let me know what you think about these blazers!

Glove It Up! My Favourite Pair

Glove It Up: My Favourite Pair

Even though the weather in the UK seems to be improving doesn’t mean you should be without a great pair of gloves. It’s constantly cold sometime in the day, whether it’s a dreary cold morning or a breezy night, gloves are perfect to have handy!

I’ll show my favourite pair of gloves I own, (below) are my leather studded driving gloves from Zara Man. They were really hard to get a hold of, but I visited London at New Years and found so many which were on sale at £19.99! I was so ecstatic when getting them because I had searched for many months to find such a statement accessory & what a statement it was! I recently wore then around a trip to London where the gloves were seen as stand outs, where people and friends also commented on how great they were.

I paired these gloves with a dark navy leather jacket, black and white scarf, black skinny jeans and a pair of navy trainers. This gave a casual fashion look.

20130217-033657 PM.jpg

Some men think studs aren’t their thing, but Zara Man had paired these gloves with a smart black jacket and a suit. So, I think the pair of gloves work well with young men and working men. Leather is also very strong and these gloves are very easy to manage.

Do you like these gloves? Need advice on the best type of gloves? Do you think you could pull them off, and if so with what accompanying outfit? Let me know!

Andrew Garfield: Spidey Fashion Sense

Andrew Garfield: Spidey Fashion Sense

The current Amazing Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield is a current inspiration for mens fashion at the moment. His casual look consists of a slim pair of black/blue skinny jeans, usually paired with converses/trainers or preppy brogues. Whilst he pairs the jeans with a pop of a colourful shirt, a graphic tee or a chunky coat.

Whilst on the red carpets, Andrew never fails to impress. My favourite look is the Balenciaga suit he wore at the French Premiere. (Below), Andrew pairs this Spider-Man red suit with a pale blue shirt, which also has a pop of red under the blue making it suit perfectly. The use of no tie makes it more relaxed and cooler, because a tie would make it too much. The maroon brogues complete this outfit to create a perfect look, off the runway.

20130217-020513 PM.jpg

This other outfit (below) is very casual yet has the star look to it, due to the statement shirt, which really pops!
Andrew has paired the light red with a slim pair of dark blue jeans, and a simple pair of plimsolls. This outfit is perfect for a day out in the sun! Pair it with a pair of sunglasses and you’re good to go!

20130217-021018 PM.jpg

Another great way to create a smart/casual look is to look at Andrew’s next outfit. Here (below) he creates a preppy smart and chilled look in one. He pairs a smart navy blazer with a salmon pink shirt, creating a relaxed contrast between the colours. While he pairs it with a pair of blue skinny jeans and some edgy worn out converse, his personal style. This is a great way to dress down at work or even to wear on a night out. To sophisticate the outfit more, just pair the outfit with a nice pair of smarter shoes.

20130217-021536 PM.jpg

Overall, Andrew loves to keep it smart and sophisticated yet he looks cool in his casual gear. A great fashion role model in British fashion, and I think more British men will dress like him.

Like Andrew’s preppy yet casual look? Let me know! What’s your favourite outfit. Is he a style icon? Is he a good spider-man?
